So, maybe something can be salvaged from this football season after all. My Vols, looking rather bad-assed in their black just-for-Halloween jerseys, actually
whipped South Carolina on Saturday. Anytime Tennessee beats a Spurrier-coached team, it's a good day. I despise the man, but I digress. When they can do
it amidst a rather lack-luster season, it's a high point! Feelin' the Big Orange love right now.
And yesterday, my Titans resurrected themselves. Yeah, I'm one of the multitudes of Titans fans in complete shock over actually winning a game - convincingly. The Titans were even dominant! EEEK! Whoda thunk it? While Vince Young isn't quite the second coming, he certainly generated more offense yesterday than Kerry Collins has managed all season. I still think Young is probably the most stupid quarterback in the NFL (they even had to let him retake his IQ test at the combine because his score was so incredibly pitiful). Two things I think helped the Titans win. There were no dropped passes, something that has plagued them all season. And, we got several of our key defensive players back from injury. When you start two rookie cornerbacks as the Titans have had to do much of the season, you are just asking to be hammered. I'll be very interested to see what happens next week. Can they keep it up?
Oh, and probably the biggest reason it was a pretty good weekend: I got to stitch! Not a ton, but some, which is more than has happened in the past two weeks. I worked on my November Crabby block. It's one of the busier blocks, so it will probably take me most of the week to stitch. Yay for actual stitching! Hoping it's a trend.
