Remember some time ago I posted about my goals? Well, I got to thinking that I should look at what progress I've made. Hm. Not so much. I made seven
goals. I've achieved four of them, but then relapsed on one. Looks good on paper? Here's what I've not managed:
Grand Plan #1 - stitch one hour during each weekday on either MTM or EP. Have not touched either WIP since making this goal. I am a loser. Actually, I think I have too many BAPs, so I am practicing BAP-avoidance. Not a good thing. Goal Revision: Temporarily on hold until goals below are under control. Then re-evaluate.
Grand Plan #3 - log in and put away the accumulated pile-'o-stuff (stash) accumulated on my work table and various other surfaces in my office. OK, here's where the relapse comes in. I did this, and had a wonderfully clear work table for about a month. Then accumulation recommenced. Goal Revision: I got work to do. I'm hopeful for next week. I'm giving myself until 6/20 to have this done.
Gran Plan #5 - create a rotation plan for April through YE that includes keeping up with Crabby and stitching each part of Hanging Gardens as released with an additional goal of reducing total WIP count from beginning to end of 2009. Well, I sort of made a plan. Then I ignored it. HG is totally kicking my butt. I am still on part 1 even though part 3 was released this month. Goal Revision: I would like to finish HG parts 1 & 2 by mid-July. Part 3 doesn't seem that huge, so maybe after that I can get close to back on track with HG. I am staying current with Crabby. June is almost finished. As for reducing total WIP count, well, I started a new WIP, a gift for my cousin who is graduating Aug 2nd. It's 60% completed and won't take that long to finish. Should be done the end of this month. The only shot of reducing total WIP count is if I finish Crabby, HG, and the gift project in 2009 without starting anything new. Like that will happen.
Grand Plan #7 - allocate one or two days a month to finishing projects already stitched. Nope. And, not likely to happen until I make substantial progress on HG. Goal Revision: At least make time to boxify Vintage Stitches before the end of July. Everything else on hold until HG is under control.
OK, so my only hope, as I see it, is to convince myself that it is summer and that means I am entitled to some serious stitching time. My household and volunteer obligations are in good shape. I just have one largish volunteer project to get underway (I'm procrastinating). I need to make myself do it so that I can stitch with a clear conscience. Sometimes I think I am really a head case. Well, I know I am. Why do I feel so much guilt about stitching during the day?

If one does not practice BAP avoidance then said BAPs will become finishes. And then you will be one of those annoying stitchers who finishes things. See! you = not annoying.
I have a brilliant plan for #3. Throw it in a box, send it to me, I'll sort it out and then mail it back to you one piece at a time so you won't be overwhelmed. Brilliant right?!
Hanging Gardens is totally not your fault part 1 & 2 were complete and total monsters.
Happy Friday. If all goes well I'm going to dance on the MiraRR today!
